Staying in Cape Town II

The Waterfront Complex is very popular with families because of all the shops and restaurants, as well as the entertainment venues located around. Green Point and Sea Point are also not far away. Sea Point has a great promenade for romantic sunset walks. There are lots of restaurants and shops to keep one happy.

The city centre during the 1990s was rather unsafe, but nowadays there have been great improvements. Although the centre is quiet at night in most places, there are also the happening streets where you can party and enjoy yourself, like at Long Street where the younger generation hang out and enjoy the evenings and nightlife venues. There is some inexpensive accommodation in the centre of Cape Town.

Above the city centre is the Gardens where the streets are rather elegant. Kloof Road has great restaurants and shops. The rich live here in their beautiful homes and many of the locals have converted their gorgeous homes into grand guesthouses. But also there are some fine hotels around the Gardens area.

Constantia is a very posh location and has the oldest wine farms in the area. The area is also very close to the city centre. Even though you will expect high prices, the area is lovely and the accommodation in the area is excellent.

The Winelands would be an ideal place to spend a night or two here, because the scenery is lovely as well as the great wine farms. Stellenbosch is fantastic and is the oldest town in South Africa. Paarl is also very popular. The magnificent Erinvale Golf Course is also on the edge of the Wineland area.
