Most tourists have a great choice of accommodation in Cape Town and usually they
stay outside the city centre because there are such beautiful areas in the surrounding
suburbs, and the city is very easy to access with the massive freeways. The Waterfront
is popular with families, and the beach areas are also very popular with the tourists.
For a quieter setting, try the Winelands and Hout Bay, as well as Constantia, where
the living is easy and everything moves at a slower pace. The Gardens area is also a
very convenient location.
Along the Cape peninsula one can admire at least 100 beautiful beaches, but the bestbeaches are in Camps Bay and around Clifton. This beach area would be more
expensive for the visitor because of the high demand. Only a few minutes away is Sea
Point which is less expensive and also a lovely location. For a really great view of
Cape Town and the famous Table Mountain, you may head out to Blouberg Beach,
which is a little further out but has an awesome view.
The Seaside villages and harbours are also very attractive, but are about an hours
drive from the city centre. Monkey Valley is popular also with visitors and there are
guesthouses at Kommetjie and Simons Town.
Hout Bay, although expensive, has great accommodation and a beautiful beach. Horse
riding can be arranged, and great fish can be sampled at the harbour.
